If you ask the average Montenegrin inhabitant they will describe Budva as a small village packed with hotels and apartment buildings. And in fact, they are right. Most of them won't even consider visiting Budva, especially during the months of June through the beginning of September.

Budva; the coasts tourist star attraction

During the summer it's packed with tourists drawn to the town's array of beaches and associated watersports as well as it's nightlife. The bus transport system is worth notice as it is one the the largest and best well-run busstations from where you can have a good base for exploring the coast with public transport.

Budva summer festivals

As of June Budva stages a couple of summer festivals starting the INternational Folklore festival which is a four-day gathering of some of Europe's finest folk musicians. A few weeks later into July the Mediterranean Song Contest takes place. During the summer the old town itself is full of buzzing nightlife in and around the old fortress. Most of the tourists you will find here are Russians.

Budva Nightlife

Most of the nightlife takes place on Slovenska or just behind on Mediteranska with a string of open-air cafe-bars and nightclubs. Most bars are open until early morning typically around 1 or 2 AM with the nightclubs being opened until 4-5 AM.
